PC
Trent Reznar, Shianna's husband... sort of. He controls both a legal business company and a crime network, both of which are in jeopardy now because of treacherous underbosses. Shianna was a gift given to him by another crime lord years ago. The PC's were first concerned with killing Trent, in which they succeeded. However, after they killed him, they found out Trent had been cloned, and a new Trent, much kinder than the last, was in their midst. This posed another question- who's the clone, and who's the real Trent?
This campaign had been going on for quite some time before I even joined; I believe it had been running for a year or so. To make a long story short; The PC's, trying to restore the criminal organisation of Shianna's husband, have earned the ire of one Darth Chroma, a Sith with a cloning facility who is proficient in the transfer life power.
When my character joined them they were on the planet Cordoraan, resolving some of their problems concerning the crime organisation. The PC's and their organisation had suffered some major setbacks in fight with a rival crime organisation. Danius was hired to repair the damage.
On arrival, Danius finds the PC's and a bunch of NPC's in an otherwise abandoned building, most of their gear in tatters. He had worked for Shienna's husband, Trent, before, and this guy owed him money. About 4000 credits. Danius would have just taken the money and left, but that plan changed when he saw Shianna. He makes no secret of being attracted to her, offering Trent to just forget about the debt if he could get him her comm number. The offer is still on even after Trent says he and Shianna are married.
Trent never really took the trouble of making a list of things that needed repairing, and when asking around, he finds out that their gear either just needs recharging, OR is destroyed beyond repair. So Danius pretty much travelled halfway across the galaxy for nothing.
The PC's then leave for a hangar, where one of their ships has just got blown up. They ask Danius to check for signs of sabotage (other than the charred out hull of the ship), and so he and ElVita get on board to do some research (and, of course, to salvage anything of value). Danius finds out that the ship was indeed sabotaged with a Thermal Detonator, and after checking the ship's computer he finds out that it had been hacked by a portable computer. After Trent pays him for his work, Danius tells him he could probably find out who owned the device used to hack the ship's computer, but he'd need access to the HoloNet.
After Shianna settles matters with the authorities and Gornar checks up on his own ship, the PC's and NPC's leave for a nearby appartement, which also serves as a safe house. A safe house that has been refurnished half a dozen times after explosions and gunfights, but still. Once there, Danius gets to work on the computer, while Shianna and Trent discuss the fact that they still have a ship, but it's up in an orbital station and impounded by the authorities. Gornar gets himself a beer.
Some time after that, E-noid enters the room, but he's ignored by pretty much everyone else. Danius finds out who owns the device; it turns out to be a high ranking Falleen woman in Trent's legal business company. The other PC's then start discussing how to deal with this, while Danius offers Trent to hack the authorities' orbital station's computer in order to lift the illegal status of their ship. For a fee, of course. Trent accepts and Danius gets to it.
Meanwhile, while Shianna is shopping, she encounters Mart. After some talking she hires him as a bodyguard. At the same time Trent makes a call to Dolph in order to add some muscle to the team. They then get a call from one of Trent's criminal underbosses, who needs to meet the PC's to discuss business. The PC's all go to the meeting point, club Nova. Once they get there, they find out it's a trap; the Herlic underboss comes in, waving his weapons around, along with about seventeen of his thugs. On a raised platform stands a four-armed reptilian woman, holding three lightsabers. The NPC's arrive, and with that the first session ends in a cliffhanger.
All hell breaks loose. While Shianna makes a plan to solve the situation with words, Gornar ducks behind the bar and starts blasting some of the thugs. Mart and E-noid activate their lightsabers and fend off incoming blaster bolts. Danius, on the other hand, is a bit drugged from the spiked drink he got at the bar prior to the battle, and decides to lob a grenade at the nearest couple of thugs. Soon everybody is fighting, except for the Herlig who fell down the stairs and Shianna, who goes after him in the elevator. Some nice action takes place.
That's when E-noid gives in to the dark side, and in his anger, strikes down a friendly NPC who got too close. For his trouble he's immediatly sliced up by another NPC, enraged at E-noid for attacking his friends. E-noid is badly wounded and barely alive.
Just when the fighting starts to get real tense, Shianna comes up the stairs with the Herlic at gunpoint, and tells everybody to drop their weapons. Promptly everybod drops their weapons, except for the reptilian dark jedi. She states calmly that she is the apprentice of Darth Chroma, the Sith Shianna killed a few weeks ago (the apprentice doesn't know her master's spirit already found a new body). She goes on to say that she will have her revenge, albeit not today. With that, she leaves, and no one tries to stop her
The wounded are then tended to, and Danius and Gornar go to collect the weapons the thugs dropped; a grenade launcher for Gornar and a heavy repeater for Danius. Although Danius was the one who shot the guy with the grenade launcher, he's happy with new weapon- he thinks a blazing repeater is much cooler than the slow, ponderous grenade launcher. Danius first offers his first aid skills to all the attractive women in the room, and then goes to see E-noid (the other PC's didn't like him much for that). Danius had made a deal with E-noid earlier, to try and commercialise the lightsaber. He tends to his wounds and calls an ambulance for the dark jedi, who entrusts him to safekeep his lightsabers.
The PC's then move to Trent's office building, sending Trent home because he's getting close to a nervous breakdown. Gornar guards the main entrance while Danius takes care of the roof. Mart and Shianna go to the conference room where the entire board is gathered- including the treacherous Falleen, Lirga. Shianna openly accuses Lirga of sabotaging her ship, and when Lirga denies her involvement, Shianna calls down Danius and Gornar. Danius presents the board with evidence from the ship's computer, and Lirga, in panic, sets off a flashbomb and runs for it.
Gornar and Mart run after her, while Danius hacks the building's security systems in order to activate a complete lockdown. And it works. Lirga is locked in just as she was about to escape through the front door, and subsequently captured by Mart and Gornar.
The only problem is that Danius, while succesfully acivating the lockdown procedure, cannot lift the lockdown, so everybody is trapped in the room they were in. Then Trent calls Shianna and after scolding her for a while, gets the security company to open the doors. Everybody goes back to the appartement. But once there, Shianna, Gornar, Trent and E-noid receive a vision from Darth Chroma, who they all thought dead. They see his new army of failed clones, and they understand their old enemy has returned.
Since the last session, it has been decided that, due to internal conflict, the gaming group will split up. Gornar and E-noid will leave the group to go on in this campaign's spin-off, while the rest will continue with the current campaign. I'll describe the spin-off here. This is the last session we played as a group, in order to make a good ending to the story line.
After a bad night's sleep, it's pretty much time to tend to the wounded and make plans for the future. Shianna goes to visit a friend in the hospital, while Danius goes to that same hospital to see E-noid. Danius tells him everything's alright; he still has the sabers and will start experimenting with them to see if their plans are viable. He'll remain on the planet with E-noid, to work on their project.
When Danius returns to the appartement, he finds Trent in a very confused state. They sit down and talk for a while, and Danius tries to explain what happened last night. Then Shianna gets back home, and everybody sits down to discuss what will happen next. Shianna and Trent plan to start a resort in space; some legal business to keep Trent out of trouble for a while, so that he can recover from all the stress. Mart decides to go with them, as do most NPC's. Gornar, however, decides to stay with E-noid. ElVita is asked to leave altogether but will later return to accompany Shianna to their new resort. Danius states that he'll go with E-noid, since they're working on something together, earning him the ire of all those present.
During the last couple of hours, tension has built up between the attractive Shianna and the charismatic Danius, and they end up spending the night together in a hotel. Shianna does this to try and get Danius to come with them; she knows he has doubts about staying with E-noid and is trying to give him a reason of coming with them. It actually works, but for entirely other reasons than she thinks. Afterwards Danius senses Shianna's confusion, sadness and pain (as a Zeltron, he can pick up other people's emotions). Since he actually has feelings for her, he decides to accompany her to the new resort- not with any hope of a relationship, but wanting to help her solve her feelings and doubts he knows she has about her marriage.
The next morning, after Danius screws up working on one of E-noids lightsabers, he hides both weapons in the hotel room and goes to the hospital to inform E-noid of this. Then he returns to the appartement and announces he'll go with the others.
The session ends when all the other PC's get into their ship (Mart and ElVita had recovered the impounded ship Danius had cleared earlier). Danius takes his own ship, and after he loads PT-3PO he had bought from his payment, they all leave for Darknon, the soon-to-be space resort.
In the mix-up that followed when the group was split, I missed one session. Apparently nothing much had happened aside from some IC-scolding between a few PC's and Trent. When arriving at Darknon, the PC's immediately started having doubts about this whole operation; Darknon was basically a hull where even the life-support generator went down for a few seconds from time to time. This project would be a major overhaul, would cost much more than anticipated, and would be a hell of a lot more work than everyone thought. Not to mention that the space station was very close to the place where Darth Chroma operated. ElVita left at this time (OOC). The other PC's knew nothing of Darknon or Darth Chroma, which was probably the only reason nobody objected too much against staying at Darknon.
All PC's, except for Dolph and Danius, had travelled to the nearby planet Virgillia to shop for supplies. Dolph remained behind with some of the Herlic's thugs they had captured and set them to work in the gardens (which was basically just a big container filled with dust). Danius spent his time checking out Darknon and the state it was in, periodically calling Mart to ask him to bring some extra supplies he would need. He also fixed a few of the light switches and corrected some computer errors.
Meanwhile, back on Virgillia, Mart and Shienna bumped into some of Shienna's old friends; rebel pilots known as Skull Squadron. After helping the Skulls with capturing a target and escaping from the authorities on Virgillia, all of them left for Darknon. At this point it became evident that the Hutt who had sold Darknon to Shienna had also sold the station to Skull Squadron. This left the group with some problems, but more immediate problems were at hand.
Back on Virgillia, security camera's had recorded the PC's apprehending their target, as well as opposing the local authorities. When the PC's realized this, Shienna immediately called Danius to go and take care of it. At that point Danius did accept to hack Virgillia's security systems and wipe the records, but got the impression Shianna thought of him as just another employee. Danius do this, Danius fetch that, Danius wipe those records. Wiping those records was easy enough, since the planet's police was occupied with a small riot Shianna and Mart had started (don't ask). On his way back Danius called Shianna again to inform her everything was settled, but she simply hung up on him. He then called Mart, asked him what the hell was going on, but was pretty much told Shianna didn't want to talk to him. That's when Danius made his decision to leave the group, after he would collect his final payment.
I'd call this the session of unlikely arrivals and departures. Some really far fetched NPC's made their entrance here, along with some less far fetched. And, of course, the departure of Danius.
Early in the game, Danius was still on his way back to Darknon, when a Jedi NPC by the name of Kel arrives at the station. And a powerful Jedi at that. He states that he is waiting to meet his son, who would join him shortly. Before this happens Danius arrives, and he has a talk with Trent about Shienna's behaviour. Danius informs Trent that he has bought a more spaceworthy ship than his previous barrel, and that he'll be leaving after receiving has payment. Trent first tries to persuade Danius to stay, but after a while he admits Shienna hasn't been all that nice lately and informs Danius that Shienna is the one he needs to talk to about his payment.
It takes a while before Shianna, who is still fascinated by Kel, comes to talk with Danius. He tells her he's no longer happy with his job and wants out. They sit down and make a deal about his payment, both of them just barely keeping up their professional attitude. Then Danius gathers his belongings and leaves, without saying goodbye to anyone.
At that time Kel's son Mattheus arrives at Darknon, but when the two Jedi and the group reach a private room to talk about Darth Chroma, Kel's other son, the Sith possesses the son and a fight erupts. Basically the Sith pounds the PC's with force push and telekinetic kill, and even after Mart seals the doorway between the Sith and them, Darth Chroma continues to attack via mind controlling Trent into shooting the others. Clearly the Sith is winning with hardly any effort.
That is, until an unsuspected volley of heavy blaster fire in the back knock him down.
Down in the bowels of Darknon, the dormant droideka Locust is reactived by some unknown contingency program (yes, after Danius left, I was free to play this character, which I had planned ahead of time). Immediately he makes his way for the room where the battle between the Sith and the PC's is taking place, and when he sees the much hated organic life form that is the Sith, his old battle programming kicks in. Immediately after Kel and Mart move to defend the unconciouss Mattheus, while Shianna shoves a dose of spice up the Sith's nose. Because of the spice, Mattheus wakes up, but feints when he sees the terrible wounds on his back.
Then Kel and Mart start walking aggressively towards the droideka, who warns them that they will be shot if they attempt to get nearer. After receiving some insults and death threats from the other PC's, Locust calmly states that he doesn't perceive the "bios" (his term for biologcal lifeforms) as a threat, mainly because he thinks they're too pathethic to hurt him. After some talking, the intelligent droid offers his services in battle to the other PC's, seeking a purpose to exist. However, when an NPC brings in an EMP-weapon and a restraining bolt, and places them threatheningly on the table, Locusts' self-defense mechanisms once more spring into action. He immediately opens fire on the anti-droid weapons, leaving a big charred hole in the ground where the table used to be. He suffers some attacks from the other PC's, most of which don't even get past his shield, and then he rolls up and leaves, returning to the bowels below.
There, he plots to efficiently take out the three jedi and his other opponents. This results in a fail-safe plan to take over control of the station and cut off access to the docks and life support.
Locust never brings his plan into action, since he finds a way to escape Darknon, as can be read in the spin-off.The other PC's prepare to assist a treacherous Imperial Captain about to defect to the rebellion, but who was caught before her loyal rebel troops commandeered her Star Destroyer.
Of Danius' fate, no one knows
