This outpost was built in the final days of the Ekrund, providing a haven for traders from the west.
While at first glance it seems little more than a fortified village with unimpressive docks, one must bear in mind that Gronti Mingol was never completed. There is some speculation among the dwarves that te kings of Ekrund intended to expand the small town into a truly impressive hold, with the intention of rivaling and eventually eclipsing Barak Varr.
As it is, the ruins of Gronti Mingol are a tragic reminder of Ekrund's ambitions turned to dust. Over the centuries, the town has often served as a staging area for dwarven expeditions into the Dragonback mountains, granting the city some more recent signs of habitation. Ultimately, however, these expeditions all failed, and Gronti Mingol remains a tangible memory of a lost dwarven kingdom...
