Not too long ago, the belligerent orc warboss Zagruk Gobstomper smashed enough heads together for other orcs to start listening him. His plan was a simple one; gather all the boys he could find, get to Mount Bloodhorn, eat or enslave all the gobbos currently occupying the old dwarven hold, build a fleet of Waaagh!ships, and leave the stinkin' desert behind. His plan consisted of more than two steps, meaning most orcs thought him a genius, so they happily threw their lot in with Zagruk. The warboss smiled, seeing the beginnings of a proper Waaagh! forming in his name.
But the path to Ekrund was long, the sun was hot, and the gobbos too chewy. The greenskins began to fight among themselves. Business as usual when among the orcs, and most of the lot felt better after krumping a few of his mates. The Waaagh! would have been on its way again then, were it not for the fact that Zagruk himself was killed in the fighting.
Suddenly finding itself without a leader, the Waaagh! was threatening to crumble. A lot of orcs felt this was a bad thing, because the warboss really did have a good plan, one they didn't want to abandon just yet. The biggest orcs and most cunning of goblins sat around a campfire and decided that, rather than beat the snot out of each other, they'd keep on going to Mount Bloodhorn, and figure out who'd be the Waaagh!'s new warboss by the time they got there.
Renaming themselves Da Waaagh! for lack of an actual warboss, the greenskins broke camp the next morning and began walking north, to where Mount Bloodhorn was supposed to be. With all the recent dead there was plenty of food again, and the orcs actually started to feel good about Waaagh!ing again. But then, on the second night, it happened.
One of the Waaagh!'s shamans, Grimgul, walked out to the campfire, sparks of green lightning shooting from his eyes and ears. He told the assembled orcs that he'd received a vision of Gork (or possibly Mork), telling him to hurry the Waaagh! over to Mount Bloodhorn already. The humies and stunties had decided to try and claim the mountains for themselves, and if the greenskins were late they'd miss out on a proppa big scrap.
The orcs, outraged that the humies and stunties were going to fight without them, immediately got up and started running for the mountains. Not only did they worry about missing the scrap- they also knew that, if either the humies or stunties got stuck in before the Waaagh! got there, they'd be that much harder to remove, and none of the greenskins really trusted the others to not simply give up and go home when the going got tough. The Waaagh! was already leaderless- a boring siege would likely result in it breaking up entirely...
GM's notes
Da Waaagh!'s purpose is simple- capture Ekrund and kick out everyone who gets in the way! Right now the greenskins are operating on the late warboss Zagruk's plan, but in order to succeed they will need a leader to step up- that means you!
