Klaus looks good! Just so we're clear, nobody actually wants the farm, then ?

I'll update the secondary character sheet with the info you provided. Also the problem with editing posts seems to be fixed, let me know if you run into any more problems!

Clearly we are not the 20 year olds desperate to start running a farm. I really appreciate the way currently we're more interested in going just for something to do. It must be boring in ostland.

Sorry for the delay.

I've left off working on the secondary characters.

Primary Character:
Ludwig Theopholis Altbreit

Backstory:Ludwig was away at school when the letter arrived telling him about the farm. Being the middle child he never thought that he'd be in line for the inheritance and is more than curious about what this is all about, because if there is one thing that Ludwig loves, it's a mystery. While away at college he had discovered 'Reads,' they've been sweeping the cities, they're basically penny-dreadful stories and Ludwig has become enamored with 'The Gray Ghost,' a mysterious gentleman who dresses up at night in a broad brimmed gray hat and sweeping cloak and he fights evil doers. His real power though, get ready for this, is that he's actually a great detective and that's why he's so good at his crime fighting job.

But knowing the dangers of dressing up in funny outfits and running around at night, Ludwig has desires on just pursuing the detective route and is always on the lookout for his first real case!

SterotypeInquisitive Detective

Stats:
Brawn: Good
Finesse Normal
Brain Good
Spirit: Poor

Positive Qualities:

Perceptive (Brain): He loves to use his little grey cells to try to deduce the solution to puzzles.

Street fighter(Brawn): Some would call it 'breaking and entering,' he calls it 'searching for clues.' Sometimes folks get upset when they come home to find you searching through their garbage.

Knowledge (Law): The letigiousness of the Ostlanders is legendary, they have to be so that the blood fueds don't go out of control and lead to families slaughtering other families over hunting grounds, as a result the legal system of the villiage is one that would chew up and spit out lesser lawyers, so unless one has some understanding of the law, don't expect to get too far with any inquires that go through the legal channels. Fortunetly, Ludwig wanting to be a 'detective' has spent years studying the police to make sure that he remained on the correct side of the law.

Eureka! (Brain): When enough information or clues have been gathered Ludwig gets a random clue or hint.

Negative Quality:

Blow-hard/Know it all (spirit): Because he is so knowledgeable he comes across as a pompus jerk when he tries to explain things. This flaw is why he never went into law, even if he had an air-tight case against Elthaba, the jury would free the witch just to spite him.

Ludwig also loves to hear the sound of his own voice and just like how 'The Gray Ghost' loves to tell the villain how he's be foiled, Ludwig also enjoys to toot his own horn and tell everyone how great he is, especially talking about what clues he's found and what he's thinking. Likely to 'spill the beans' or 'monolouge' at the wrong time or be willing to confront the big bad without thinking it through.

Special Ability
Went with upgrading my Brawn from Normal to Good.
Also "Back for more." After mentioning to a room that is full of potential murderers that he's hot on the trail of some lead or other it would make sense that he'd survive getting wolloped on the back of the head or poisoned or stabbed or shot with a crossbow bolt.

Equipment
Ludwig is a man of 'fits and wits.' No weapons for him.
Long coat
Notebook
Pipe and matches

I like Ludwig Holms. For a fourth ability what about something like Eureka!(Brain), gets random clues/hints as he puts together the different clues he already has.

Fits with the detective theme, AND I can keep using the mental image of Robert Downey Jr.

In the warhammer world atheist could work, although it might be better to say he's cynical about religion. After all, this is a world where the gods actually effect things frequently. Not to mention the Empire (Which Ostland is a province of) has a state religion.

Sounds good, always nice to have a detective type on board to go and investigate that weird noise he heard all by himself...

By the way, as a primary, Ludwig can assign four points to his stats- I believe you only picked three (using an alteration to upgrade Brawn from Normal to Good), so you're entitled to another upgrade (Finesse or Spirit to normal).

Same goes for positive qualities- a primary character gets four qualities, so you can pick another since you only have three. And you only need to select one negative quality (though I'm guessing the other two are for secondary characters?).

Finally, you get two alterations, not one !

Other than that, he looks good to me!

The quote button doesn't seem to work, but anyway...

Yea, I was kinda on the fence about being skeptical/atheist/science minded. It kinda is a little too meta, if you know what I mean, I was actually editing as you responded and took it out as I was trying to tidy it all up.

I definitely like the Eureka! idea, also it allows DS to figure out what info to pass along.

For the stats, I'll up Finesse to normal and I'll drop 'clumsy' as a negative quality.

And if I get a second alteration I think I'll take 'Back for more.'

I'll edit up above reflect these changes.

Winston's Positive Qualities:

Tough (Brawn)- For years Winston has been the center on his local 'Team Handball' team. For those who don't know what team handball is, it's like Rugby and arena football had a mean ugly baby, and that baby is Team Handball, as a result, Winston is able to shrug off physical attacks that would hamper a lesser man.

Never say Die attitude (Spirit) - Years of team play has taught Winston that the game isn't over until it's over and this positive 'Rah-Rah' attitude has crept into most other areas of his life and Winston is able to 'cheer on' any players once a day that around him if they ever suffer from some type of panic or fear.

Knowledge - Dwarven Runes (Brain) - Winston has always been interested in Dwarven culture and has learned their alphabet as well as how to read their language.

Winston's Backstory:
Backstory: Winston was one of Ludwig's dorm mates and they also played Team Handball together. They worked well together on the court and the friendship spilled over to their everyday lives.

Winston, having nothing to do in the 'off-season' he decided to tag along with Ludwig.

Jill's Positive Qualities
Fleet of foot (Brawn/Finesse): Jill is a runner on the college running team. Since Jill trains all year long she has the endurance of a long distance runner (brawn/endurance) and can outrun any 'normal' human over any long distance. Jill is also versed in the shorter lengths and can sprint past most normal people, as the old hunters saying goes, 'I don't need to be faster than the bear, just faster than you.' So using Finesse Jill would be able to outdistance any other player in the short term.

All Feet Drive (Finesse): All that running through bad terrain has taught Jill how to move quickly over any type of terrain, be it mud, roots, snow, she can move at normal speed.

Perceptive (Brains): When Ludwig met Jill it was friendship at first discussion. They found that they both enjoyed reads and used to trade any issues as well as discuss their different theories as the stories progressed. This careful reading of the reads has endowed Jill with a 'detectives mind' and has made her much more perceptive as she pays attention to such little details as peoples handedness, what they put in their drinks, or any other types of personality quirks that always seem to give the killer away in her favorite reads.

Backstory: Jill had met Ludwig at the local corner Reads shop. They had come upon each other as they were both waiting for the final installment of the latest issue of 'The Gray Ghost.' It had left off with a murder, as usual, but the victim was the prime suspect and finally they were to be told who the real killer is. But the issue was delayed! Ludwig was having none of it and was explaining to the store clerk how sorry he would be if he could not go in the back and produce either the final issue or an explanation of how the victim was found in a locked room. At that point Jill had to interject with some of her theories of how the room could have been locked after the murder took place. They collaborated with each other for a while and compared theories until the store clerk shooed them away. They've been fast friends ever since.
